“It started with a succession of mighty empires and powerful kingdoms; a city built, destroyed and rebuilt several times and then desecrated again, only to rise anew from the its own ashes like a Phoenix and become the capital city of the country. Delhi - the land of several myths and legends, the spectator of a cruel history, but also the sole witness to a renaissance wave of culture, art, tradition and literature – has not only been at the heart of the country but has also been a proud owner of our hearts, capturing the essence of our lives one breathtaking moment at a time.

Hello everyone! I'm Ruhm, the Shushuk Dolphin! Ruhm, which means 'glory' in German can well be related to the glory of the capital city of Delhi. Delhi, with its lip smacking food,  it's magnificent historic monuments, it's beautiful festive embellishments and it's rich flaura and fauna has marked itself as an epicenter for sensational tourism and picturesque scenery. Amongst all these aspects of it's bountiful beauty, stand its two sacred rivers - The Ganga and The Yamuna with River Ganga being my peaceful and cherished home.

I am considered to be the oldest and the most intelligent of creatures and proudly uphold the title of the National Aquatic Animal of this country too. The age of the rich Mughal Heritage was one of the the happiest time for all of us here, living the marine life. We would sing and dance with our friends and family all day. Aquatic lifestyle is truly the most comfortable and the most fun filled lifestyle indeed. Although increasing pollution threatens my brethren, I see hope in the next generation as they fight for us, for our rivers and for our dignity. I wish to live a happy and healthy life wearing Mughal clothes and spreading the message of love and peace through the rich medium of cultural art forms which were the hallmark of the Golden Mughal era. The towering minaars and intricate phulkari, engaging qawwalis and graceful Kathak movements are all reminders of our magnificent past and heritage. Just as the mighty Ganges flows through cities and villages, our culture is passed down through generations; to be sung of, written about, illustrated and acted out. I stand for our customs and folklore as much as I stand for the Ganges.”
